Lonnie Dwayne Brown, 69, of Bloomington, formerly of Monticello, died at 12:59 AM, June 25, 2011 at the OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello with Rev. Steve Ingram officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7:45 PM. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Dwayne was born September 4, 1941 in Mattoon, IL the son of Roy W. and Hazel T. Brown. He married Linda Eades on September 22, 1963 in Champaign.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Brown of Bloomington; sons, Ronnie (Cathy) Brown of Bloomington and Larry (Kim) Brown of Mahomet; 2 grandchildren; Tyler and Zach Brown, and brother; Don Brown of Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dwayne worked as an auditor for Sams Club, the Americana Nursing Home, and the Marco River Marina, Marco Island, FL. He was a member of the Monticello Masonic Lodge #58 AF&AM. He loved watching his grandchildren play ball, being with his family, bowling, and traveling on long trips with their good friends Jim and Becky Hicks.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the OSF Hospice.
