Lois M. Marx, 90, of Monticello, died at 3:00 AM, June 16, 2010 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Monticello United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Eischen officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:30 PM, Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Lois was born July 28, 1919 in Carrollton, IL the daughter of Christian Henry and Minnie (Walters) Goedde. She married Chelsea Raymond Marx on August 7, 1942 in Wichita Falls, TX. He died June 28, 2000.
Survivors include her son; Chelsea Ronald (Bernice) Marx of South Fork, CO, daughter; Mary (Troy) Preston of Homer, 4 grandchildren; Chris (Christine) Preston, Heather (Josh) Webb, Brandon (Nicolette) Marx, and Brett Marx, 6 great-grandchildren, and nephew; Gustave (Wendy) Schupmann of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister (Alethea Schupmann).
Lois was a homemaker and a substitute teacher in Monticello and De Land schools. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Piatt County Home Extension, Monticello Womens Club, and the Kirby Hospital Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or the Monticello United Methodist Church.
