Born August 16, 1918 Seymour, Ill. Daughter of Roy and Gladys Scogin Bullinger
Died May 19, 2010 Mankato, MN at age 91.
Married to Stephen Placko in Racine, WI, May 10, 1940.
Later married to H. Lee Crouse, September 1, 1950 in Champaign, Ill. He died June 17, 1991.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Warning of Mankato, MN and a son Roger Crouse MD and his wife Teresa, who also reside in Mankato. Two grandsons, Michael Warning, Monticello, Ill. and Michael Crouse, Minneapolis, Mn. Three granddaughters, Jennifer Kneefe, Christie Crouse, and Kimberly Maertens all of Mankato, MN. Great grandson Joe Altergott, Box Elder, SD and great granddaughters Makayla Kneefe and Moriah Maertens both of Mankato.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, a daughter Linda, brothers Charles, Rollin, Grant, a sister Faye Fyalka, and a grandson Bernie Altergott.
Mrs. Crouse graduated from Champaign HS (1936) and Julia F. Burnham School of Nursing (1939)
She was past President of Monticello Youth Center, Monticello Women's Club, and John & Mary Kirby Hospital Auxiliary. She also was Director of Volunteers for 27 years.
Mrs. Crouse was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello.
Lois was a life member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Univ. of Illinois Mother's Alumni Assoc.
Lois loved her family and she loved Monticello. She will be greatly missed.
Services will be at Wright-Mackey Funeral Home in Monticello, Sat. May 22, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. Visitation 1:00 to 2:00. Memorials may be made to the Kirby Hospital Auxiliary or to the Diabetic Assoc. of Decatur.
