Leta Heath Obituary
Leta Glasgow Heath, age 96, of Monticello, passed away at 2:09 a.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Rev. Dan Siebert officiating. No visitation. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Friends and family are invited to the home of Dale and Nancy Huisinga following the service.
Leta was born December 4, 1914 in Piatt County, IL the daughter of Elbert and Jessie (Garrett) Glasgow. She married James Robert Heath on September 15, 1935 in Monticello. He passed away on May 22, 1994.
Surviving is her daughter; Nancy (Dale) Huisinga of Monticello, 4 grandchildren; Rob (Cynthia) Huisinga, Dave (Debby) Huisinga, Gary (Annette) Huisinga, and Amy Huisinga, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandsons. She was preceded by her husband, four brothers and two sisters.
Leta was a member and long time Sunday school teacher at the Monticello United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Monticello Golf Club; she also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, gardening, and was an avid Illini fan.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or Kirby Hospital.
