Leona E. Lyons

Leona E. Lyons, 91, of Urbana, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Meadowbrook Health Center, Urbana.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Monticello Cemetery.
Leona was born December 24, 1919, in Greenup, IL, the daughter of William F. and Anna (Huisinga) Lyons.
Surviving are her sister, Ellen Meece of Monticello; nieces and nephews, Beverly Casey, Nancy LaChance, Richard McCord, Steve McCord, Terry Meece, Ann McIntosh, John Lyons, Vickie Lyons, and Pat Monti.
Leona was a government employee at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Champaign, AARP, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and Cole Hospital Auxiliary. She loved bird watching, flowers and enjoyed cooking.
