Leon E. Durbin, 86, of Monticello, died at 12:10 p.m., December 3, 2011 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Services will be held at a later date with Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello handling the arrangements.
Leon was born May 4, 1925 in St. Elmo, IL, the son of William Earl and Irene (Durbin) Durbin. He married Loretta Evans on December 31, 1942 in St. Charles, MO.
Survivors include his children; Ron Durbin of Mansfield, Linda Hintzman of LeRoy, and Mike Durbin of Bement, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, one brother; Robert Durbin of Champaign, and 2 sisters; Ruby Evans of Monticello and Mary Payne of Bement. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 4 brothers.
Leon was self-employed and farmed.
Memorials may be made to the Bement EMTs.
