Leland Lourash Obituary

Leland Bud Lourash, 74, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, February 13th, 7:12 AM, at Carle Hospital. Bud was born November 11, 1936 in rural Seymour and attended Mahomet schools.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Fairchild of Paris officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, February 17, 2011 and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Bud has farmed in the Monticello and Fisher areas for 50 years. He raised Polled Hereford Cattle and hosted the Illinois Polled Hereford Tour in 2001. He and his wife led one of the largest Ag 4-H Clubs in Piatt County (Sangamon Valley 4-H) and he served on the 4-H Advisory Board for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Percy D. and Merrian Lourash) and an infant son.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deanna of Monticello, sister; Beverly Nickelson of MO, daughter; Kathleen (Steve) Koss of Monticello, son; Terry (Jamie) Lourash of Seymour, daughter; Karen (Curt) Hastings of Cooksville, grandchildren; Mindy (Jake) Romano, Tony, Erin, Andrew, and Logan Koss, Maggie, Alex, and Jack Lourash, Jacob and Taylor Hastings, and great grandsons; Hunter and Heyden Romano.
Bud looked forward to being with his family, listening to country music, and having family wiener roasts. He enjoyed watching his grandsons show cattle and attending grandchildrens school and sporting events.
Memorials may be made to the 4-H Memorial Camp 2027 4-H Camp Rd., Monticello, IL 61856.
