Larry McGuire

Larry Duane McGuire, 81, of Champaign, passed away peacefully at 8:09 am on September 29, 2025 at Accolade Healthcare of Savoy.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 pm, Friday, October 3 at Owens Funeral Home, 101 North Elm Street in Champaign. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 11AM.

Entombment will be at 12:30 pm in the mausoleum at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. 

Larry was born October 25, 1943 in Mt. Carmel, IL, a son of Marjorie and Curtis McGuire of Mt. Carmel, IL. He married Linda Britt on October 14, 1967.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife: Linda, and his parents. 

He worked at SuperValue warehouse till he retired. Larry enjoyed attending train shows and collecting trains. He was an OId Western TV fan and loved driving around the country to see trains, and visiting with friends. 

He was a member of Windsor Road Christian Church, Illini Chapter of Illinois Association of the Deaf, and Illini Deaf Senior Citizens. He was a fan of Illini football and basketball.

He will be greatly missed by many close friends who felt like family.
