L. Jeanette Parker, 95, of Monticello died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Kirby Hospital in Monticello. A memorial service to be celebrate Jeanettes life will be held Saturday, October 25, at 3:00 P.M. at the Bement United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family requests memorials to Bement United Methodist Church or Kirby Hospital Foundation. Burial will be in Monticello Township Cemetery wit Mackey-Wright Funeral Home assisting.
Jeanette was born January 5, 1913 in Bement, Illinois the daughter of Shirley and Margaret (Bower) Body. She married Wilbur Hawbaker in 1935 and had four sons. She married William Parker in 1959, which preceded her in death in August of 1994. She lived most of her life in Bement and Monticello area near her family, which she cherished. She enjoyed many years working for General Telephone Company and Raycraft Drug.
Surviving are sons John Hawbaker and wife Barbi of Destin, FL. and Stuart Hawbaker and wife Nancy of Decatur. Grandchildren include Deborah Schniederjan (Anthony) of Decatur, Scott Hawbaker (Melinda) of Maroa, Shelly Wilson (Randy) of Zanesville, OH. and John Hawbaker (Barbara) of Marengo, OH. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, plus infant sons Thomas and William Hawbaker, sister Dorothy Horn, and brother Charles Body, and husbands.
