Kevin Bielert

Kevin P. Bielert, 65, of Philo died on Saturday, Feb 17, 2024 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, Feb 21 from 5-7 pm at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St, Champaign. Graveside funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Thursday, Feb 22 at 11am.

Kevin was born on Sept 5, 1958 in Champaign; a son of Paul and Marietta Carl Bielert. He married Joyce York on Aug 22, 1981 in Urbana.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years; 2 children, Becky (Ian) Athen of WA and Dustin Bielert of Philo; and 4 grandchildren, Ivy, Rain, Cloud and Sky. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 1 grandson, Titan.

Kevin worked at Plastipak. In his younger years he enjoyed motorcycle riding with Joyce, camping and jet skiing. He was also a car enthusiast. Kevin watched all kinds of car racing and even raced his own modified car on dirt tracks for many years.
