Karleen Piatt Obituary
Karleen Piatt, 93, of Monticello, passed away at 2:05 PM, Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at the Piatt County Nursing Home.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Fr. Bruce Lopez officiating and Rev. Michael Eischen assisting. No visitation. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Karleen was born July 5, 1915 in Brownstown, IL the daughter of Floyd and Glenora (Harris) Dycus. She married Donn Piatt in June 1947 in Monticello.
Surviving is her husband: Donn Piatt of Monticello, daughter: Tamzin Kratz Holman of Monticello, son: Dyke Piatt of Monticello, grandchildren: Justin Holman of Ann Arbor, MI, Shana Holman of Henderson, NV, James Piatt of Indianapolis, IN, Will Piatt of Corpus Christi, TX, and Elizabeth Piatt of Carbondale, IL great grandchildren: Zoe Catherine Holman, James Piatt Holman, Sarah Alice Holman, and Margaret Ann Piatt. Karleen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother (Bill Dycus)and one sister (Karalee Grigsby).
Karleen was an Elementary School Teacher, housewife and mother. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Kirby Hospital Auxiliary, and the PTA.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or Monticello Area Education Foundation.
