Karen Parrish Obituary
Karen G. Parrish, 70, of Monticello, passed away at 7:40 AM, Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the St. Philomena Catholic Church 1301 N. Market St. in Monticello with Fr. Bruce Lopez officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday April 14, 2009 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7:45 PM. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Karen was born December 30, 1938 in Gary, IN the daughter of Hans William and Theresa (Gilday) Hanson. She married Sherman M. "Max" Parrish on August 18, 1962 in Monticello. He passed away on October 12, 1998.
Surviving are her children: Richard Parrish of Monticello, Connie Hilson of Champaign, and Jane Wallin of Roosevelt, MN, brother: Charles Hanson of Princeton and 6 grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and Husband.
Karen was a retired teacher and was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
