Judith A. Judy Harper, 74, of White Heath, passed away at 7:38 AM, Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Monticello United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Seibert officiating. No visitation. Interment will be held in Ingram Cemetery. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello is handling the arrangements.
Judy was born September 21, 1937 in Monticello the daughter of Howard and Alma (Cruse) Bruhn. She married Richard A. Dick Harper on April 25, 1954 in Monticello.
Survivors include her children; Rick Harper of White Heath, Deb (Greg) Valentine of Monticello, Steve (Lori) Harper of White Heath, and Beth (Matt) Bennett of Monticello, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a brother; Jim Bruhn of Urbana. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Judy retired from the University of Illinois Athletic Department. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, the church choir, Summer Singers, Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, Hayward, WI and a board member of the Piatt County Housing Authority. Judys hobbies included singing, sewing, knitting, crocheting, ironing, reading, listening to music, cooking, gardening, walking, fishing, playing the piano, and taking care of the church. Judy loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed measuring her grandchildren on the wall and having sock fights with them. In general, Judy led a very happy active life.
