Juanita McGehee Obituary
Juanita P. McGehee, 67 of Monticello, passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at her residence.
Private family services are being held with Mackey-Wright Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Mt Auburn Cemetery.
Juanita was born February 24, 1942 in Mt. Auburn the daughter of Herschel L. and Virtie (Kidd) Adams. She married Thomas J. McGehee, Sr. on August 2, 1964 in Taylorville. He passed away December 3, 2008.
Surviving is her son: Thomas J. McGehee, Jr. of Waukesha, WI, daughter: Tracey Morgan of Beaverton, OR, son: Terry McGehee of Villa Grove, 4 grandchildren, brothers: Steve Adams of Niantic, Robert Adams of Zachery, LA and Don Adams of Mt. Auburn, sisters: Lois Adams of Mt. Auburn, Becky Nation, Susan Tumiati and Nancy Barringer all of Stonington, and Ruth Stanley of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother (George Adams) and 2 sisters (Eva Lee and Judy Westenhaver).
Juanita was a homemaker and a member of the Monticello Church of the Nazarene. She served as a Den Leader and Committee Member of Pack 122 of Monticello and also served as Troop Committee Member and Treasurer of Troop 122 of Monticello. She was a member of the Piatt County Home Extension, served as Girl Scout Leader, was an avid Illini fan and Chief Illiniwek supporter, a Washington Redskins fan, and extremely dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Prairieland Council Boy Scouts of America or the Salvation Army.
