John R. Antonacci of Mahomet passed away peacefully at home on (Wednesday) December 13th surrounded by loved ones.
John was born on June 20th 1947 son to Sivio and Grace (DiGiacomo) Antonacci. He married Becky A Heninger on January 31st of 1969.
John served his country as a member of the Marine Corps from 1965-1969. He worked for Interstate Brands for 40 years until his retirement in 2010, working his way up from bread delivery driver to General Sale Manager.
John was a hard working man, a devoted husband father, and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John loved to golf. When he was not working or with his family he could often be found with his friends at Lake of the Woods golf course.
He is survived by his wife Becky; his son Jim Chase of Franklin, daughter Kim (Troy) Boley of Mahomet; Grandchildren Katlyn (Correy) Wygant, DJ Boley, Zach (Lee), Josh, and Miranda Chase, Ashley and Stephen (Jenn)
Boley. Great-grand children Kendyl, Carter, Melanie, Camden, Vera, Brayden, Tristin, Jace, and Rosie. His two sisters Donna (Ric) Rowe and Marleen (Tom) Grim and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
In accordance with family wishes, John will be cremated and friends may greet the family at a visitation from 5:00-7:00pm on Monday, December 18 at Blair-Owens Funeral Home (102 E. Dunbar) in Mahomet. Father Joe Hogan will officiate a Memorial Service at 7:00. His cremated remains will be buried at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL at 12:00 on Friday December 22, with a Marine Corps Honor Guard providing military rites.
