James Norfleet Obituary
James W. Norfleet, 73, of Bement, formerly of White Heath and Rantoul, passed away at 2:50 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026, at The Haven of Bement.
J.W. was born on April 1, 1953, in Urbana, IL, the son of Erthel ‘Tuck’ and Mildred (McDaniel) Norfleet. He married Carol Glee Henke on December 23, 1978, in Monticello, IL.
J.W. is survived by his wife, Carol Norfleet of Rantoul; daughter, Shannon (Luke) Williams of Monticello; son John Henry (Emily) Norfleet of Monticello; grandchildren, Koyie Williams, Kali Wright, Kenzi Norfleet, Kole Norfleet; and sister, Jeni Su (Richard) Greenarch of White Heath. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth ‘Chub’ Norfleet.
J.W. was a welder at Caterpillar and owned his own trucking business. He enjoyed motorcycles, boating, water skiing, and roller skating.
A celebration of life service will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the White Heath Community Building with a luncheon to follow.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Animal Shelter.
