James Edward Farraher, age 72, of Danville formerly of Monticello, passed away at 7:30 AM, Sunday, February 3, 2008 at the Danville VA Medical Center.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday February 5, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello.
James was born June 28, 1935 in Peoria the son of Francis E. and Opal L. (Hanson) Farraher. He married Veronica A. Martin on June 21, 1958 in Rock Island. She is deceased.
Surviving are his son: Martin J. Farraher of Batavia, daughters: Mary A. Collado of Des Plaines, Debra M. Myslicki of LaGrange Park, and Kristine K. Skummer of Plainfield. 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, brother: Jerome F. Farraher of Port Byron.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Brother and wife.
James was a retired truck driver. He drove for A&P Foods for 35 years and for ADS for 14 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. James graduated from Aleman High School in Rock Island. He was a member of the VFW in Champaign, Bement American Legion, and St. Philomena Catholic Church.
