James Clodfelter Obituary
James C. Clodfelter, age 80, of Monticello, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Kirby Hospital in Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 20, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello 214 S. Charter St. with Rev. Deborah Owen officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 2:00 PM, Friday, April 20, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be held in the Bement Township Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Hamm-Burke American Legion Post #101. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Clodfelter was born June 16, 1926 in Bement, IL, the son of Jeff and Jesse (Carman) Clodfelter. He married Bobbie Martin on November 13, 1945 in Monticello. She passed away on December 25, 1990. He then married Norma J. Nyberg on September 19, 1992 in Urbana. She survives.
Also surviving are his sons: Jeff (Julie) Clodfelter of Monticello and Mark (Jeannette) Clodfelter of Jacksonville, Step-daughter: Denise J. Stephenson of Lake Havasu, Az., and twin brother: John Clodfelter of Monticello, 4 Grandchildren: Michael (Jill) Clodfelter, Mark, Andy, and Jonathan Clodfelter, 2 Step grandchildren: Marla J. Allison and Gregory L. Allison, Jr. and 1 Step-great grandchild: Jade Allison.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1st Wife, 2 Sons (Mikey and Eddie) and 3 Sisters (Mary Fern Clodfelter, Nita Snearly, and Florence Dobson).
Mr. Clodfelter was a State Farm Insurance Agent from 1961-1996 and former owner of the Clodfelter Caf from 1946-1961 in Monticello. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello, a lifetime member and Past Commander of the Hamm-Burke American Legion Post #101 of Monticello, Monticello Masonic Lodge #58 AF&AM, Hope Chapter #104 Order of the Eastern Star, Champaign-Urbana Order of the Amaranth, Inc., Fraternal Order of Eagles, 20 year volunteer on the Monticello Fire Department, and a former Monticello Township Trustee.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kirby Hospital.
