Isabel Pembroke Platz

Isabel Pembroke Platz, 87 of Monticello, passed away at 5:40 A.M., Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the Piatt County Nursing Home. Funeral mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the St. Philomena Catholic Church in Monticello with Fr. Pat DeMuelemeester officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church with Mackey-Wright Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Isabel was born October 3, 1920 in Monticello, the daughter of Daniel and Teresa (Gunning) Pembroke. She married Max M. Platz March 5, 1943 in Chicago. He passed away February 19, 1999. Surviving is her son: Bill (Claudette) Platz of Mt. Vernon, IN, daughters: Susan Shurilla and Sarah (Al) Manint both of Monticello, 4 grandchildren: Kelly, Jeff, Jennifer, and Lexi, 1 great grandson: Oliver, and brother: Martin Pembroke of Savoy. Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 sisters (Helen and Mary).
Isabel was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Philomena Catholic Church of Monticello and volunteered with the local Red Cross. Isabel was devoted to her family and enjoyed working outside and in her garden.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the Piatt County Nursing Home.
