Irene C. Wittig

Irene C. Wittig, age 93, of Monticello, died at 11:55 AM, Sunday, March 23, 2008 at the Piatt County Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Dalrymple officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 11:00 AM, Thursday March 27, 2008 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Irene was born January 20, 1915 in Bloomington the daughter of Virgil and Myrtle D. (Borton) White. She married George H. Wittig on April 20, 1935 in Macomb. They would have been married 73 years on April 20th. He survives.
Also surviving is her son; James Dean Wittig of Bement, daughter; Phyllis Ann Grove of Monticello, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister; Jo Ann Raynesford of La Palma, CA and several nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by 1 son (Ronnie), 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.
Irene worked at Sterling Drug Inc. and for the Monticello School District. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Monticello.
Memorials may be made to the Piatt County Nursing Home or the Piatt County Nursing Home Halcyon Unit.
