Ina Lou Walker

WALKER Ina Lou Walker, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on
Tuesday, March 13, 2007.

Lou was born July 2, 1924 in Armington, Illinois, the daughter of George T.
and Pauline Hickey Israel, both preceded her in death. She is survived by
her husband of 58 years, Charles W. Walker; they were married on September
5, 1948 at Armington Christian Church. Also surviving are her son Thomas F.
(Judy) Walker of East Grand Rapids, Michigan and daughters Jean Ann (Gary)
Murray of San Antonio, Texas and Amy Lou Walker of Madison, Wisconsin; 4
grandchildren, Meg Murray of Hoboken, New Jersey, 2LT Todd W. Murray of
McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey; Natalie (Andrew) Hamm of Chicago and
Ashley (Chris) Nichols of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and 2
great-granddaughters, Olivia and Allyson Nichols of Grand Rapids. Lou is
also survived by an older brother, Billie Mert (Dorothy) Israel of McLean
and a younger sister, Margilee Jacobs of LaSalle and many nieces, nephews
and cousins.

Lou was a registered nurse, graduating from Evangelical Deaconess Hospital
School of Nursing, Lincoln, Illinois in 1945. She retired as an R.N. in 1987
from John and Mary E. Kirby Hospital in Monticello. Lou served on the Board
of Directors for Tatman Retirement Village. She was an avid golfer and
member of Monticello Golf Club, Kirby Hospital Auxiliary and American Legion
Auxiliary. She has been an active member of the United Methodist Church of
Monticello since 1948, a member of the sanctuary choir for 48 years, Sunday
School teacher, youth leader, and a member of the Tri-M Sunday School class.

Lou was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend
and she will be greatly missed by all whose lives were touched by hers.

Visitation will be 6:00 8:00PM on Friday, March 16 at Mackey-Wright
Funeral Home in Monticello. Funeral service will be at 11:00AM on Saturday,
March 17 at the United Methodist Church of Monticello. Officiating will be
Rev. Michael Eishen, Monticello pastor and Rev. Gene Colthurst, long-time family friend
and pastor at United Methodist Church in Tower Hill, Ramsey and Herrick,
Illinois. A graveside ceremony will follow at the Monticello Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Piatt County Nursing Home, United Methodist Church
of Monticello and the Alzheimer's Association. The Walker family would like
to express special thanks to Beth Green Seibert, R.N., and the staff and
caregivers of Piatt County Nursing Home for the loving care and comfort they
gave Lou the last year of her life.
