Harold Frye Obituary
Harold G. Frye, 83, of Savoy, formerly of Monticello, passed away on June 16, 2012 at Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Seibert officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Monticello Township Cemetery.
Harold was born on November 24, 1928 in White Heath, IL, the son of Orville P. and Kathryn (Harper) Frye. He married Betty A. Fombelle on June 11, 1949 in Atwood, IL.
Surviving are his wife; Betty A. Frye of Mahomet, daughters; Susan (Rory, Sr.) Overmyer of Champaign and Cindy (Dave) Nelson of Naples, FL, son; Greg (Kim) Frye of Bullhead City, AZ, grandchildren; Rory (Amanda) Overmyer, Jr., Heather Overmyer, Jennifer Overmyer, Colton Nelson, Katie Nelson, TJ. (Danika) Frye, and Chris (Vanessa) Frye, great grandchildren; Peyton Overmyer, Sam Overmyer, Morgan Frye, and Kaleb Thomas brother; Orville Frye of Tuscola and sister; Margaret Wright of Monticello. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother (Kenny Frye).
Harold was the manager of Hicksgas of Monticello and he served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Monticello Lions Club, and Past District 1L Governor of the Lions Club.
Memorials may be made to the Monticello Lions Club.
