Maurice Glenn "Glenn" Miller, 92, of Seymour, IL, passed away Saturday (July 15, 2023) at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Glenn was born in rural Seymour on April 27, 1931 to George and Margaret (Ehler) Miller. Glenn married Mary Talbott on August 3, 1958 at the Bondville Methodist Church. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Lois (Alexander) Miller; sister Betty Gaitros; step-brothers Dick, Jack, and Don Alexander; and son-in-law Sam Brunsvold. Survivors include his wife Mary; children Julie (Steve) Thompson, Sherri (Bill) Thornton, and Greg (Lori) Miller; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A lifelong farmer, Glenn was mechanically gifted. He developed his skills as a machinist in the U.S. Army in Inchon, Korea. Later he served on the original board of Rising Farmers Grain. He also volunteered many hours for the I & I Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Club and served as a board member for several years.
He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held 10:00-10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 20th, 2023 at Blair-Owens Funeral Home, 102 E. Dunbar St., Mahomet, IL 61853. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am at Riverside Cemetery, Mahomet, IL.
Memorial donations may be made in Glenn's name to the I & I Antique Tractor & Gas Engine Club.
