Gayanne Carpenter

Gayanne Carpenter, age 81, a resident of Mahomet died on Thursday, January 26, 2023. 

Gayanne was born February 22, 1941, in Champaign, IL a daughter of Charles "Red" Gates and Hilda (Campbell) Gates. She was united in marriage to Wesley A. Carpenter on July 8th, 1962, at the Mahomet Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 7th, 2013.

Gayanne retired from the University of Illinois, Department of Computer Sciences in 1995 after 35 years of service.

Gayanne is survived by her sister Janalee (Rick) Beus of Salina, KS. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Donna Carpenter of Beverly Hills, FL, Sherlye Carpenter of Mahomet and brothers-in-law, Doug Carpenter of Newton, IA and Orlyn Langenbeau of Marshalltown, IA.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

There will be no service and cremation rites have been accorded per Gayanne's wishes.
