Gary E. Vezina

Gary E. Vezina, 64, of Bement, died at 6:54 AM, July 21, 2011 at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 25, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello with Rev. Tim Bauler officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 PM, Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello. Interment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens with Military Graveside Rites.
Gary was born December 26, 1946 in Muskegon, MI the son of Gerald W. and Allene M. (White) Vezina. He married Vicky L. Seidl on June 30, 1968 in Cheyenne, WY.
Survivors include his wife, Vicky Vezina of Bement; son, Jeffrey Vezina of Newman, daughter, Michelle Guarin of Rantoul; 4 grandchildren; Garrison, Lauran, and Payton Vezina all of Newman, and Jordan Guarin of Rantoul, mother, Allene Vezina of Monticello, brother, Bart Vezina of Monticello, and sister, Cheryl Pittenger of Brandon, FL.. He was preceded in death by his father.
Gary was retired from the Postal Service. Gary served with the U.S. Air Force in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello, VFW Post #4343 of Cheyenne, and was musical director of the J4J Christian Clown Troupe. He was a jack of all trades, enjoyed doing handy work, was a good cook, had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help other people.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Leukemia Association or the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello.
