Gabriella Galbo Obituary

Gabriella Giada Galbo, 5, of Monticello, passed away at 10:58 a.m., on May 11, 2012 at St. Francis Childrens Hospital, Peoria.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the St. Philomena Catholic Church, Monticello with Fr. Bruce Lopez officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Monticello Township Cemetery.
Gabby was born July 28, 2006, in Urbana, the daughter of Antonino and Elizabeth (McConnell) Galbo.
Surviving are her parents; Tony and Elizabeth Galbo of Monticello, sisters; Sophia and Nina Galbo both of Monticello, grandparents; Lynn and Gail McConnell of Monticello, Filippo and Rosa Galbo of Monticello, great grandparents; Paul and Betty McConnell of Monticello, cousins; Filippo and Enzo Galbo of Mt. Zion, Filippo Paris of Mahomet, Nino and Rosa Baker of Monticello, and Nathan and Sarah Fell of Lombard. She was preceded in death by her paternal great grandparents; Castrenza Risico and Baldassare Galbo and Giuseppina Badalamenti and Antonino Trupiano and maternal great grandparents; Betty and Norman Ochs.
Gabby was a lover of all animals and especially loved her chihuahua" Bella" and adored Spongebob. She was a student at Kairos Preschool in Monticello. Gabby loved the colors pink, purple, and blue and enjoyed swimming, reading, coloring, and playing Barbies. She also enjoyed playing her Nintendo DS and loved music and dancing. She adored spending time with her dad at Filippos Pizza, eating breadsticks with pizza sauce, and enjoyed spending time at her grandma and grandpas and Nonna and Nonnos houses. She liked to be wherever her sisters were and adored playing with all her cousins.
At just five years of age, Gabbys wonderful sense of humor and bright smile touched all those who met her and will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gabbys honor to Kairos Preschool in Monticello or the Piatt County Animal Shelter.
The family would also like to thank the entire community of Monticello for their unbelievable outpouring of love, support, and prayers during this time.
