Frank A. Ellis, Jr., 83 of Monticello, passed away at 8:15 P.M., Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Kirby Hospital.
Graveside service will be at 2:30 P.M. Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Rev. Shelly Forrest officiating. No Visitation. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Frank was born May 1, 1925 in Piatt County the son of Frank A., Sr. and Ethel (Milligan) Ellis. He married Waneta Gadbury on December 2, 1945 in Monticello.
Surviving is his wife: Waneta Ellis of Monticello, son: Stanley D. Ellis of Bement, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brothers: John Ellis of Kankakee, Max Ellis of Germany, and Joe Ellis of Bement, sisters: Judy Helm of Decatur, and Jane Schook of Champaign. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother (Dale).
Frank was a retired Maintenance Superintendent for Unit #25 School District and worked for Hubbard Plumbing and Heating prior to that. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, volunteered for the Monticello Fire Department and was very gifted with his hands and loved to fix things.
Memorials may be made to Kirby Hospital or the Monticello Fire Department.
