Felicia Anike Afolabi was born on 24th October, 1947 to the family of Late Pa Emmanuel Idowu Akande & Late Madam Julianah Adewale Akande of Bale's Compound, Fiditi, Oyo State,Nigeria. She attended First Baptist Primary School, Fiditi, between 1953 and 1958. Later she proceeded to L.A Modern School, Fiditi from 1959 and 1961. Between 1962 & 1966, she attended Iseyin Grammar School. She later attended college (NCE) in 1967 where she studied accounting. She served at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS) during her National Youth Service Corp and worked as an accounting officer until she retired in 2007 after 22 years of service.
She was raised in a Christian home and devoted her life to live out her faith. She got married in 1970. She is survived by her four children. Abolaji (Uloma), Abiola (Ibukunoluwa), Abolanle Temitope, and Abolade (Ibilola) ; nine grandchildren, Bimpe, Fifeoluwa, Ireoluwa, Daniel, Deborah, Ifeoluwa, Shammah, Shalom, and Osinaka. She is also survived by her brother, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, many friends, and family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 3, 2023, at Windsor Road Christian Church, 2501 Windsor Rd, Champaign, IL 61822 with a visitation held one hour prior to services. The burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery 1803 North Coler Avenue, Urbana, IL 61801.
