Everett Lilly Obituary
Everett Dale Buddy Lilly, age 76 of Monticello, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Piatt County Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Pastor Allan Oman officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, September 24, 2007 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home.
Dale was born February 26, 1931 to Archie and Viola (Warehime) Lilly. Dale married Margaret J. Cook on January 17, 1954 in Monticello, Illinois.
Surviving are his wife, 2 daughters, Jackie Lilly of Monticello, Illinois and Tami (Steve) Hornback of Monticello, Illinois, and 3 grand children, and 2 great grandchildren, mother Viola Lilly, 1 brother Paul Lilly, several nieces and nephews.
Dale was a farmer. He farmed land with his grandfather and father, which totaled over 100 years. He worked part time at Beasleys True Value Hardware Store.
Dale was an avid reader and always carried a new book list in his pocket. He enjoyed listening to classical music. Dale always had a sense of humor and a joke to share. Dale was known as Archie to his class mates and Buddy to his family and close friends.
Dale attended Blackburn College for 1 year, then joined the Monticello National Guard, and served in the Korean War.
Dale was preceded in death by his father and daughter Cindy
Memorials may be made to Piatt County Assistance Living Project.
