Elizabeth A. Winder, 86 of Monticello, was called home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2011 at 5:00 A.M. at Bement Health Care Center. Elizabeth was born July 13, 1925 in Campbellsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Mark T. and Mary E. (Whited) Colvin who preceded her in death. Elizabeth married Lester S. Winder, who survives, on March 15, 1943 in Monticello. Also surviving are a son, Richard S. Winder (Linda) of Libertyville, Il. and a daughter Judy A. Hoffman (Nick) of Springfield, IL; and 2 sisters Evelyn Gatchel of Monticello, and Betty Keith of Oakwood, IL. along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by two brothers George and William Colvin. Elizabeth was a devoted wife and mother. She was employed for 33 years at Glenbrook Laboratories and was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Monticello. While still active, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and homemaking; She was also an avid walker. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Rev. Jim Dalrymple presiding. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
