Edith Schreiber Obituary
Edith Cord Schreiber, 100, of Sherman, IL, passed away at 12:05 PM, January 6, 2010 at Heritage Manor, Continu Care.
She was born on July 25, 1909 in Mayview, IL. She married Arthur F. Schreiber on August 25, 1935. He preceded her in death December 17, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (husband, Bob) Reed of Rochester, IL, a beloved grandson, Christopher of Shiller Park, IL, a sister, Kate Strohl of Monticello, several nieces, and a cousin, Shirley Merryman of Champaign.
Edith lived in Fort Lauderdale for 30 years but spent her remaining years close to her family in Monticello and Sherman.
The family greatly appreciates the loving professional care of the staff at the Villa Health Care West, the nurses on the 8th floor of St. Johns Hospital and the staff of Heritage Manor.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 PM on Saturday, January 9, 2009 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home 215 E. Washington St., Monticello, IL 61856 followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Rev. Paige Roberts officiating. Interment will be in Bement Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Parkinsons Foundation Midwest Office 833 W. Washington Blvd, Chicago, IL 60607.
