David Douglas Doug Waldman, 50, of Mahomet, died at 7:46 AM, May 24, 2011 at his residence.
Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello with Rev. Jim Dalrymple officiating. No visitation will be held.
Doug was born April 7, 1961 in Monticello, the son of David Joseph and Carolyn (Muse) Waldman. He married Molly Turner on July 3, 2000 in Champaign.
Survivors include his wife, Molly Waldman of Mahomet; daughter, Brooke Waldman of Mahomet; stepson, J.D. Thompson of Mahomet; stepdaughter, Cortny Thompson of Homer; mother, Carolyn (Randy) Vance of Monticello; grandmother, Helen Muse of Monticello, granddaughter, Sophiea Richard; sister, Bridgette (Timothy) Bureau of Grand Haven, MI; step-brother, T. J. (Katrina) Vance of Monticello; step-sister, Chasity Waldman of Champaign; seven nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Doug worked as a machinist and also in construction. Doug served in the U.S. Navy and was an engine man on the USS Okinawa. His hobbies included playing pool, NASCAR racing and was an avid sports fan of both the L.A. Lakers and the Oakland Raiders. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and being involved with his daughters softball and basketball teams.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home to assist the family.
