Dorothy M. Robison, 87, of Princeton, IL formerly of Monticello, passed away at 1:50 AM, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Liberty Village, Princeton.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 30, 2011 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home Monticello with Rev. Michael Heiniger officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be held in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Dorothy was born December 4, 1923 in Fallbush, KY the daughter of Robert Ocal and Ottie (Gaines) Foster. She married Everett Robison on January 14, 1942 in Monticello.
Survivors include her son; James (Mary) Robison of Sycamore, IL, her daughter; Virginia (Bob) Shonkwiler of Monticello, 4 grandchildren; Zachary A. Robison of Denver, CO, Kate (Kenny) Hairrell of Sycamore, IL, Jason (Deb) Shonkwiler of Monticello, and Brandon Shonkwiler of Bement, 5 great grandchildren; Cale, Allision, Wyatt and Amelia Shonkwiler, Abiligal Hairrell, a brother; Paul Foster of Payson, AZ, and sisters; Reatha Wallace of Peoria, Anna Burton and June Brown both of Cottonwood, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Dorothy retired, after 25 years, as a cook from Robison's Department Store in Champaign. Dorothy enjoyed cooking and baking. She will be fondly remembered for her fried chicken and making a special individual pie for each member of the family during family gatherings. She also enjoyed her flowers and was a member of a Bunco Club.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Liberty Village Alzheimers Unit, Princeton.
