Dorothy M. Marquiss, 91, of Bement formally of Oakley IL. , died at 1:20 PM, December 18, 2010 at Kirby Hospital, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with visitation 1hour before service. Interment will be in Bement Township Cemetery.
Dorothy was born July 14, 1919 in Bement, IL the daughter of Ben and Effie (Carr) Arnold. She married Allen Marquiss on April 14, 1939 in Bement.
Dorothy is survived by her husband; Allen Marquiss of Bement, children; Mary White of Los Angeles, CA, John Marquiss of Chapel Hill, TN, Martha Floyd of Decatur, Linda Seaton of Decatur, and Barbara Kuzma of Burbank, CA, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister (Leona Swearingon).
Dorothy was a retired bookkeeper for Marquiss Construction Company and a homemaker. She was a member of the Oakley Methodist Church, Willing Workers Class, and enjoyed traveling, camping, cooking, and wintering in Florida.
Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice.
