Dorothy D. Castang, 71, of Monticello passed away at 2:46 AM, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at her residence.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Monticello Township Cemetery with Rev. Steve Ingram officiating. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Dorothy was born August 19, 1938 in Farmer City, the daughter of James Albert and Abby Leona (Tibbs) Golden. She married Dwight Castang on September 25, 1954 in Gibson City.
Survivors include her husband; Dwight Castang of Monticello, son; Dennis (Debe) Castang of Dallas, OR, daughter; Debbie (Mike) Robeck of Monticello, grandchildren; Ethan, Alex, and Jesse Castang and Ryan and Kayla Woodham. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers (George and Bill Golden) and 2 sisters (Alta Mitchell and June Grabb).
Dorothy was a housewife and worked at the Piatt County Nursing Home. She was also a member of the Nazarene Church of Mansfield.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
