Don Vincent, age 77 of Champaign, IL,
welded his last weld and left this earth on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He died of a stroke while doing what he loved—working!
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held at The Vineyard Church of Central IL in Champaign on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00pm
A second CELEBRATION OF LIFE will be held in his hometown of Hull, IL at the United Methodist Church on Monday, March 7, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
During these casual celebrations, folks can come and go and will have multiple opportunities to share a few words of how Don has impacted their lives.
Don was the third son of Vol and Jean (Johnson) Vincent of Hull, IL. At 18, he married his high school sweetheart, Cathy (Craig) Vincent of New Canton.
After getting his BS in agricultural mechanization from the University of Illinois, Don used his creative mind in various careers over the years, at Illinois Rural Electric Coop, Vincent Feed and Grain Systems in Winchester, IL, Vincent Farms in Pike County, PET in Hannibal, MO, KFI, Kraft, & Vincent Fabrication in Champaign.
He valued intimate relationships with others and storing treasures in Heaven. Nothing energized him more than mining for God stories. He left an eternal impact, not just on his family but on every person he came into contact with. He will be remembered by many for his penetrating questions. He didn’t know a stranger.
His living family includes Cathy, his bride of 58 years, and four children: Shawn of Quincy, IL, Damon (Kristi) Vincent of Barry, IL, Jenny (Chris) Heitzmann of St. Petersburg, Russia, and Christy (Orestes) Ruffin of Crown Point, IN. Don thoroughly enjoyed his seven grandchildren: Taylor Vincent, Kelsey (Austin) Sisler, Toby Vincent, Kasey Heitzmann, Kassidy (Zack) Fix, Mateo and Raquel Ruffin along with
older brother, Lester Vincent of Hull, IL. and a large extended family. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Cory Vincent, and brother, Paul Vincent.l
