Diana L. Lake, 52 of Monticello, passed away at Carle Hospital at 7:36 P.M. on September 25, 2008. Diana was born on October 18, 1955 the daughter of Dale and Judy Burke of White Heath. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and her fraternal grandmother. Diana is survived by her parents, husband, Roger, son Joshua, sisters; Sherry (Carl) Porter and Kim Burke of Monticello, and Clayton (Kathy) Burke of White Heath.
Diana graduated from Monticello High school and was a secretary at the Carle Hospital when she met and married Roger Lake on August 29, 1981. Our 27 years of marriage was the happiest time of both of our lives. During her husbands career she traveled to many parts of the world as an army wife and enjoyed every minute of it. She was a very happy, loveable, and outgoing lady who never met a stranger. Upon retirement from the Army, she made her home in Monticello with her husband and her son Joshua. She was a devoted wife and mother who put everyone before herself. Her family was her greatest joy and meant everything to her, nothing was more important. Reading had to be her greatest passion, with the exception of her husband and son. Diana will be sadly missed by her family and all the people who knew and loved her.
Services are being handled by Mackey-Wright Funeral in Monticello with the Rev. Dalene Kuebler officiating. Visitation will be Saturday September 27, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home at 215 E. Washington Street Monticello.
