David A. Maxwell

David A. Maxwell, age 51, of Champaign, passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Nichols officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Monticello Township Cemetery with military graveside rites.
David was born August 7, 1956 in Decatur, the son of John William and Jennie B. (McPheeters) Maxwell. He married Patricia JoAnn Taylor on July 7, 1990 in Urbana, IL. She survives.
Also surviving is his mother: Jennie Maxwell of Champaign, brother: John Daniel Maxwell of Monticello, sisters: Billie (James) Mitchell of Camargo, Glenna M. Maxwell of Champaign, 1 niece and 1 nephew.
David was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
David was an official for high school football and basketball games and was a news watcher for WCIA. David served with the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Illinois Basketball Officiating Association and the IHSA. Most recently David graduated in May of 2007 with an Applied Science Accounting degree. David was also a long time Emcee at the Monticello 3rd of July fireworks.
