Clyde Oates Obituary
Clyde Denton Oates, age 89, of Monticello, IL., died at 4:40 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2006, at the Bement Health Care Center in Bement, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dalene Kuebler officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Assumption, IL. with military graveside rites.
Mr. Oates was born November 11, 1917 in Potomac, IL. the son of Hugh and Rosa (Zimmerman) Oates. He married Lois Orange on June 22, 1940 in St. Charles, MO. She is deceased.
Surviving are Sons; Ronald Oates of White Heath, IL. and Rick Oates of Bourbonnais, IL. Daughters; Donna Buchanan of White Heath, IL. and Lorie Gregory of Monticello, IL. Brother; Robert Wayne Oates of Pittsburgh, PA., 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, 1 Daughter (Beverly), 3 Brothers and 1 Sister.
Mr. Oates retired as a railroad agent for Illinois Central Railroad after 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II as a Deck Sergeant. He was a member of the White Heath United Methodist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the White Heath United Methodist Church.
