Clarice Henry

Clarice Henry, 98, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Luther Oaks, Bloomington.  She was born on September 13, 1926, to Wilbur and Ruth Holley in Danville, IL. She married Boyd Henry on June 28, 1952.  They were the parents of Brian and Alicia.  Clarice was predeceased by her husband, Boyd, her son, Brian, and her siblings Ellen, Eugene, Raymond and Betty.

Clarice is survived by her daughter, Alicia Henry (Wayne Karplus); her grandchildren, Nathan Karplus (Deann Ambrose), Lauren Karplus (Jason Kandume), Maureen Henry and Ross Henry; her great-grandchildren, Jenson and Evelyn Karplus, Panduleni and Hafeni Kandume; and her nephews, Bob (Mary) Holley and Greg (Jan) Holley.

Clarice and Boyd were longtime residents of Champaign and members of Grace Lutheran Church.  She was a licensed beautician.  After her children were in college, she returned to school and became a registered nurse.  She loved hosting dinner parties, ballroom dancing, and the company of her family and friends.  She remained active to her last days of life.

Her visitation will be on Thursday, August 14, from 10-11 AM, with her funeral to follow at 11 AM at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm, Champaign.  Pastor Chris Repp will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Mt. Hope Mausoleum, Champaign.
