Christopher Peters

Christopher S. Peters, 58, of Champaign, died on March 17, 2025 at Savoy Place Memory Care.  

The funeral service will be at 11:00am on March 26 at Owens Funeral Home (101 N. Elm St.) in Champaign, with the visitation one hour prior to the service (10:00-11:00).  Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.  

Chris was born on October 31, 1966 in Champaign.  A son of Larry and Brenda (Skinner) Peters.  

Survivors include: His Mother, Brenda (Tom) Hawk; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his Father and brother, William.

Chris graduated from Centennial High School in 1984, where he played football and baseball and later went to Parkland College, taking several business classes.  In 1987, he purchased Furniture Warehouse with his Father and retired in 2008.  Post-retirement, he lived in St. Pete Beach, Florida where he enjoyed the water and boating immensely.  Chris was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan and also enjoyed Illini football, hunting and saltwater fishing.
