Christine Johnson

Christine G. Johnson, 97, of Urbana died in the early morning on Thursday, August 8, 2024.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, August 14 from 10-11 am at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm, Champaign. The funeral service will begin at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign.

Christine was born on February 1, 1927 in Litchfield, a daughter of James and Jane (Sweeney) Thompson. She is survived by her loving family; 1 daughter, Karen Gentry of Urbana, 2 sons, Robert Wolfe of NC and Anthony Wolfe of Champaign; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and 1 brother, John (Sharon) Thompson of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; 2 children, Jane Ingram and Steven Johnson; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Christine was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Catholic Church for over 50 years. She loved traveling with her husband and together they saw the world.
