Charles Lee Giddings, 73, of Monticello, passed away on August 5, 2012 at his residence.
Charles was born on January 29, 1939 in Washington County, OH, the son of Charles Earl and Irene (Markey) Giddings. He married Judy Hicks on June 29, 1973 in Monticello, IL.
Surviving are his wife; Judy Giddings of Monticello, children; Gary (Lydia) Giddings of Killeen, TX, Tosha (Kevin) Kopp of Monticello and Charles Lee (Tammy) Giddings of Seymour, Sherry Jones, Brenda (Jackie) Giddings, Leasure Giddings, and Becky Atkinson all of Parkersburg, West Virginia, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, brothers; Guy (Esther) Giddings of Monticello, Tom (Nancy) Giddings of Hermit, CA, and step father; Willis Linton of Monticello.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents (Charles Giddings and Irene Linton), brother (Homer), and 2 infant daughters.
Charles retired from the City of Monticello Water Department and was warehouse manager for IMCO. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Monticello. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and was known as a prankster.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home, Monticello with Rev. Jim Dalrymple officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Monticello Township Cemetery.
