Charles Burton Obituary
Charles E. Burton, age 70, of Mansfield, Ill., died Friday, November 3, 2006, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 6, 2006 at Mackey-Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Beedy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Croninger Cemetery in Cisco, Ill.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Craig-Reed American Legion Post #1181 of Cisco, Ill. or an organization of the Donors Choice.
Mr. Burton was born July 9, 1936 in Delmar, KY. the son of Jack Grif Griffin and Lola (Trimble) Burton. He married Norma J. McGinnis on June 13, 1966 in Jonesboro, Ill. She passed away December 10, 2005 in Urbana, Ill.
Surviving are Son; Curtis E. Georgie Burton, Sr. of Benton, KY. Daughter; Crystal Burton of Marion, IL., Brothers; Jack Burton of Streator, IL. and Donnie Burton of Las Vegas, NV. 2 grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, 1 Daughter and 1 Sister.
Mr. Burton was a machinist, car salesman and dispatcher for the Sheriffs Department. He was a member of the New Covenant Church in Hornbeak, TN.
