Cassandra Elise Teague

Cassandra Elise Teague, 34, of Champaign, passed away at her home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

Cassandra was the beloved daughter of Erin Teague and Joseph Gerard Sinotte.  She was born on October 23,1988, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.  Cassandra's father, "Gerry", always dreamed of having a little girl and naming her Cassandra. She spent most of her life in Topeka, but growing up she also lived in Baltimore, Maryland; Jefferson City, Missouri; and Columbus, Georgia.  Cassandra moved to the Champaign area to be close to her mother. 

In her younger years, Cassandra was an avid reader and she was passionate about learning; she excelled at math and problem solving.  Cassandra loved making new friends and rarely knew a stranger.  Cassandra's spirit was infectious and unforgettable and she blazed her own path with a fiery brightness. She was a short-lived gift for our family and her greatest achievement is her three beautiful children, Katherine Avery, Karma Isabelle, and Joseph Gerard Teague.

She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Erin and Bernard Thomas of Champaign; her twin daughters, Katherine and Karma, and her son Joseph Teague of Kansas; her brothers William (Merrill) Teague of Brooklyn, NY, and Evan Averback of Topeka; her sister, Rowan Teague of Kansas City; and her step-sister, Pamela Joi Pifer-Thomas of Topeka; her maternal grandparents, Mike and Jane Crosby of Topeka, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins that cherished her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph and paternal grandparents Gerard and Janice Sinotte, all of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, her step-brother, BJ Thomas,  as well as her fiercely loved uncle, and true guardian of our family, Eric Michael Crosby of Topeka.

Services will be held at a later date in Kansas.
