Carolyn Kaczor Obituary

Carolyn Kaczor, age 81, of Monticello, passed away at 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at Piatt County Nursing Home in Monticello.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 28, 2007, from 6-8 pm at the Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello. Funeral Services will follow visitation.

Carolyn was born on February 3, 1926, in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Dennis E. and Laura (Aswell) McClendon. She married Charles S. Kaczor on November 27, 1952, and they had three sons.

Surviving are her sons: Mark A. Kaczor of Monticello; Brian C. Kaczor of Durham, Maine; Dennis J. Kaczor of Monticello; daughter-in-laws: Mary (Slevin) Kaczor of Monticello, Kathy Kaczor of Durham, Maine; and Champika Kaczor of Monticello; 2 grandchildren, Arjun and Maya Kaczor of Monticello; and her twin sister; Marolyn Bate of Santa Barbara, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dennis E. McClendon II of Tampa, Florida.

Carolyn graduated from High School in El Monte, California where she worked as a Rosie the Riveter during the last two years of WWII, attended the University of Alabama, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Control Tower Operator where she met Charles S. Kaczor, a pilot, married and raised three sons.

She enjoyed nature programs, bird watching, astronomy, listening to classical music, and playing her harmonica. Carolyn was known for her love of animals.
