Carolyn Beckett

 Carolyn Jo Beckett, 62, passed the morning of 12/31/2024.

Carolyn was born March 16, 1962 in Independence, MO. She was adopted by Allen and Elsie Wallace, and spent her younger years living in Independence and Columbia Missouri. Her sister Stacy was adopted a few years later, before the family moved to Mahomet,IL.

Carolyn graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School, where she spent many evenings/weekends enjoying time with her friends.

After high school, Carolyn was a forklift operator at Southland for several years. She  then joined the International Union of Operating Engineers local 841, and was an active member for 26 years. She spent most of her career working for Champaign Asphalt/Open Road Paving Company.

Carolyn was known for having her bubba cup with ice cold Pepsi everywhere she went. Game nights were her favorite time to spend with family.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Jeff Beckett Sr, son Jeffrey Beckett Jr (Lydia), sister Stacy Ferree (Frank), nephews John & Ben Ferree, and several cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen C Wallace and Elsie J Wallace (Ward)

She was loved by all who knew her, even motherly to many who needed advice or just someone to talk to. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Life in Carolyn’s honor, held on January 25, 2025 at Elks Lake Pavilion in Lake of The Woods Forest Preserve. Starting at 12pm for family, friends and coworkers.
