Carl Laley 84 of Bement passed away at 8:23 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Bement Health Care Center.
Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 30,2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Bement with Fr. Bruce Lopez officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00-12:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Interment will be in Bement Township Cemetery. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello is handling the arrangements.
Carl was born on November 16, 1924 in Villa Grove the son of Rudolph and Florence (Decker) Laley. He married Rosella Meinhart Einhorn on May 26, 1962 in Island Grove, IL. She passed away March 15, 1997. He married Patricia Riedlinger on May 13, 2000 in Bement.
Surviving is his wife: Patricia Laley of Bement, son: Jack (Theresa) Laley of Maryland Heights, MO, daughter: Barb (Rick) Milton of Monticello, stepdaughter: Becky Salyers of Wheeler, stepdaughter-in-law: Fran Einhorn of Bement, grandchildren: Elizabeth and Ryan Laley, Mitch and Baley Milton, Valerie (Lucas) Beirman, Louie (Brenda) Salyers, Tim Salyers, Laurie (Mark) Meyer, John, Matt, and Jenny Einhorn, 3 great grandchildren, brother: Wilferd Laley of Tuscola, sisters: Ruth Buck of Armstrong, Eloise Kennedy of Tuscola, Wilma McClain of Tolono, and Betty Biggs of Lebanon, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, 1 brother (Joe Laley), stepson (Tony Einhorn), and stepson-in-law (Wesley Salyers).
Carl was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bement Health Care Resident Activity Fund or St. Michael Catholic Church.
