Billy G. Morgan

Billy G. Morgan passed on from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Carle Hospital, Urbana. Bill lived in Monticello with his wife and daughter.
Bill was born on April 9, 1931 in Pride Community, KY, the son of John and Wilma (Mays) Morgan. He married Mildred Millie Collins on September 7, 1952 in Sturgis, KY.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years; Millie Morgan of Monticello, his daughter; Debbie of Monticello; his son; Dennis (Sheryl) Morgan of Waterloo, IL, his daughter; Karen (Tim) Walker of Jacksonville, AR, and nine grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother (James Morgan).
Bill served and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He served as the administrator of the Bement Nursing Home and later as a security guard with General Cable in Monticello. Bill was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, Monticello.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Calvary Baptist Church, Monticello officiated by Pastor Randy Dempsay. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home in Monticello is handling the local arrangements. A second funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Pythian Cemetery, Sturgis, KY, officiated by Rev. George Besch with military graveside rites. Visitation on Wednesday will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Whitsell Funeral Home, Stugis, KY, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given to the Calvary Baptist Church, Monticello or the Piatt County Developmental Services.
