Betty Martin Obituary
Betty J. Martin, 85, of Monticello, passed away at 4:48 a.m., on June 11, 2012 at the Kirby Medical Center, Monticello.
Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. No Visitation. Mackey-Wright Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Betty was born October 29, 1926, in Mahomet, the daughter of Willie A. and Charlotte F. (Crowley) Paul, Sr. She married Kenneth W. Martin, Sr. on October 3, 1959 in Mahomet. He passed away October 19, 1976.
Surviving are her brother; Keith F. Paul of Mahomet, sisters; Dorothy Logan of Los Fresnos, TX, Wanda Mahin of Gainsville, MO, and Donna Poundstone of Bement, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son (Kenneth W. Martin, Jr.), 2 brothers ( Asa Paul and Kenneth W. Paul) and 2 sisters (Laverne Mendoza and Nancy F. Shott).
Betty was a homemaker. She was a member of the Vermillion Heights Christian Church and volunteered for 17 years working with senior citizens.
Memorials may be made to Monticello Faith in Action, Kirby Medical Center Auxiliary, or donors choice.
